The Orbea Gain was one of the first electric-assist bikes to be designed like a normal road bike, in terms of design and discretion. This new version has been completely redesigned to further improve user experience, safety and road behavior, with the Enough Power concept, which results in an exceptionally light, sporty and comfortable bike.

The new Gain motor (Ebikemotion X35 Plus) is the heart of the Gain and the key element of the Enough Energy concept. Its sophisticated drivetrain system provides smooth, balanced and reliable assistance, sufficient for the selected modes to enhance your ride, but without doing all the work. In addition, with the motor located in the hub, instead of the bottom bracket, you’ll enjoy resistance-free pedaling when the Gain is no longer assisted.

To achieve this, Orbea has applied a new Torque Simulation Algorithm to the motor, which results in a much more natural response in terms of assistance. The motor settings have been refined, with the aim of making the assistance much closer to the riding experience you expect. In addition, Orbea has integrated a new display with a larger, more readable screen offering all the necessary information, as well as the ability to change assistance levels directly with the bike computer buttons.

The battery is one of the most visible elements on an electric bike, which is why Orbea has paid particular attention to making it as light, small and discreet as possible. Thanks to the Enough Energy concept, the Gain will provide you with the level of pedal assistance you need. With it, no more bulky, heavy, high-capacity batteries that diminish the “cyclist” feel of electric bikes.

The Gain is designed for long rides, but there can be more demanding days in terms of duration and elevation. That’s why Orbea offers the Range Extender as an option. When integrated into the system, it adds 208 W/h to the original battery capacity, which is 248 W/h. This brings the system’s battery capacity to over 256 W/h.

Integration, safety and ride quality
The brand has leveraged the experience gained with its Orca road models to completely conceal the cables with the ICR+ solution on all Gain models, making it a standard for this electric-assist road bike.

Elements such as the speed sensor or motor cables are also hidden in the frame to give a clean and elegant appearance, without neglecting ease of maintenance. Now, the speed sensor is routed inside the right chainstay and the motor cables are integrated into the left chainstay.
The Gain is also the first road bike to feature integrated daytime running lights in the bike computer mount and saddle clamp.

The new geometry offers greater safety, thanks to the lowered bottom bracket and reduced chainstay length. The result is a lower center of gravity, which provides more stability without compromising the bike’s responsiveness. All Gain road versions are equipped with 700×30 tubeless tires for greater safety, efficiency and comfort.
Simplicity and balance
The Gain’s control center is an attractive and discreet button placed on the top tube. The colored LED indicator puts all information at your fingertips. In addition, all Gains have a display that shows all necessary information intuitively.

The Gain does not need a multitude of cables, ports or accessories. The CAN (Controller Area Network) bus offers a single interface for charging, system diagnostics or adding a Range Extender auxiliary battery.
The Gain’s smooth and balanced assistance requires an advanced sensor. Perfectly integrated into the effort to create an elegant and discreet system, the cassette lockring is replaced by a PAS sensor that measures the pedaling force and adjusts the power accordingly.
Integrated lights
Fully integrated lighting is a subtle extra element that enhances your ride. The Gain is safer and more functional with front and rear lights that signal your presence day and night. With permanent running lights and an optional headlight, the Gain is ready for road use.

Imagine your way of riding
The MyO program allows cyclists to customize their Orbea in a unique scheme within the industry. Changing wheels, gearing or other components… all this is possible during the ordering process. Thus, the bike delivered to your dealer corresponds exactly to the bike of your dreams.
