The flagship of the Basso range, the aerodynamic Diamante SV aims to be even faster in its new version and also promises increased versatility.

The Diamante is the flagship of the Basso brand, the one that since its introduction has represented all the know-how and innovations of the company from San Zenone degli Ezzelini, an Italian municipality in the province of Treviso in the Veneto region of Italy. The desire to create the fastest version of the Diamante gave birth to the new Diamante SV, for Super Veloce. Every phase of the design of the different parts of the Diamante SV was carried out with the idea of shaping a bike that responds to this identity, “Super Fast“. The new Diamante SV aims, thanks to the improvements made by Basso Bikes, to be “Super Faster“, even faster than its predecessor.

With the desire to evolve its aero model, Basso has paid particular attention to multiple details to establish a perfect blend of the latest technologies and a new design on the Diamante SV. By focusing on the complete system design (frame + components), Basso gives the new Diamante SV better integration aimed at enhancing aerodynamics. Thus, the aero cockpit is just one example among others.

Aesthetic improvements that primarily aim for a gain in performance. The junction between the handlebar, stem, and frame has been optimized to offer better unity and improved air penetration. The fork/tire/wheel section, called OpenFlow, offers wider spacing to create air flow disturbances and promote aerodynamics. While all parts of the frame have been meticulously scrutinized, the development of aerodynamics has also focused on the paint. The Diamante SV benefits from “a 3D ceramic nanoparticle structure” that makes the paint less porous and more compact, making the surface more uniform and limiting drag.

Aesthetics, ease of use, simplicity of use, safety, aerodynamics: all parts and components are perfectly integrated into the frame to optimize the complete system as much as possible. The Diamante SV features a new SV and internal cable routing: the cables are routed through the stem (with a “SuperSafe” clamping system). The spacers under the stem have been developed with the same objective, to offer easy adjustment. The composite inserts of each spacer are intended to provide additional comfort by damping vibrations.

Speed was one of the keys in the development of this new Diamante SV, but with the objective for Basso engineers to shape a fast and agile bike whatever the surface and terrain. The new Diamante SV has tire clearance up to 32mm for those who want to increase vibration damping and overall comfort. The fork design, aiming to guarantee good lateral rigidity without compromising responsiveness and ride quality, gives the Diamante SV its own unique geometry.

The latest version of the Diamante SV benefits from tubes of different sections in its design depending on the frame size, to adapt and meet the specific needs of a maximum number of cyclists. Thus, the carbon layer, the shape of the tubes, and the construction of the Diamante SV vary depending on the size to ensure an identical perfect riding feel and experience.

Like all Basso bikes, the new Diamante SV aims to embody the “designed for racing, built to last” philosophy. Manufactured one by one to guarantee the same riding sensations and performance, as on day one even after several seasons on the road, the Diamante SV relies on meticulous development that has allowed Basso to create an advanced paint that is more resistant and durable. The 3D structure of ceramic nanoparticles would increase water repellency and reduce porosity, resulting in a more resistant, more aerodynamic, cleaner, and easier-to-clean paint.

“Making its fastest bike even faster” was a difficult task for Basso, but the adventure is presented as a great source of inspiration and motivation within the Italian factory. And Basso is delighted to have improved its best bike not only in terms of performance but also versatility.

The new Diamante SV is available in three colors, with custom builds offered on the Basso Bikes website configurator. Six drivetrains are available: Campagnolo Chorus 12V Disc, Shimano Ultegra Di2 Disc, SRAM Force AXS eTap, Campagnolo Super Record 12V Disc, Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 Disc, and Campagnolo Super Record 12V EPS Disc.
