BMC has unveiled an all-new Teammachine SLR. Redesigned to be more aerodynamic, 160g lighter (1,165g for the frame + fork in size 54), and integrating a new ICS2 cockpit, the new BMC Teammachine is available in SLR, SLR01, and SLR01 frameset versions, with a range extending from €2,799 to €10,999.

10 years ago, BMC launched a bike that would revolutionize the design and manufacturing of performance road bikes. The Teammachine SLR has won every major title a bike can win, including Monuments, World Championships, Olympic Games, and the Tour de France. Based on the knowledge accumulated over this decade, BMC says it has reached a new level to present an all-new frameset, ready to stay at the forefront for the next 10 years.
“It’s undeniable that competition is part of BMC’s DNA, and we are proud to always be at the forefront, both in global competitions and in the industry in terms of innovation and cutting-edge technologies,” explains Mart Otten, Road Product Manager at BMC Switzerland. “With the new Teammachine, we have achieved a unique balance of weight, stiffness, compliance, and aerodynamics that will exceed the expectations of the most demanding cyclists. This is our ambition; we are ready for a new decade.”
Designed by BMC, Accelerated Composites Evolution (ACE) technology creates thousands of virtual prototypes based on given parameters and an expected level of performance. “To stay ahead, something more was needed. For the development of the new Teammachine, we therefore optimized our ACE technology by adding a fourth key parameter. In addition to weight, stiffness, and vertical compliance, it now takes aerodynamics into account,” explains Mart Otten.
Known for its power transfer, the new Teammachine SLR goes even further with a wider bottom bracket shell contact area thanks to the new down tube shape and optimized carbon layups. Head tube, fork, steerer tube, and handlebars with ICS system: every element has been considered and improved to achieve the highest possible level of agility and responsiveness.
When the road climbs and weight can make the difference between victory and defeat, the Teammachine SLR is there to back you up. By further refining its exclusive Integrated Cockpit System (ICS) and redesigning key parts, BMC has significantly reduced the weight of the entire frameset. The new generation of integrated cockpits, ICS Carbon and ICS2, represent a new step forward in bike design and functional integration.
The new ICS Carbon features a lightweight and very stiff monocoque design with internal cable routing. At 305 grams, the ICS Carbon cockpit is 30% lighter than traditional cockpits and is among the lightest cockpits on the market. Available in six lengths (from 90 to 140 mm), it can accommodate most GPS bike computers thanks to a mount whose length can be adjusted via two inserts.
ICS2 features a new elegant design that lives up to the functions of the iconic ICS system, with reduced weight and improved stiffness. ICS2 is designed to become the most adaptable integrated cockpit system created to date.
In the same vein, the new D-shaped seatpost is stripped of all excessive material, while the optimized carbon structure and minimalist paint on the frame and fork reduce the total weight by 160g (9%) compared to the previous generation Teammachine, while giving it superior aerodynamics. Thanks to recalculated shapes and structures and blade design, the fork achieves the ambitious goal of being lighter, but also stiffer and more aerodynamic than before.
Thanks to the latest evolutions of Tuned Compliance Concept technology, the new Teammachine is touted as more comfortable than it has ever been. TCC technology, through precise adjustment of carbon layers, allows for a level of compliance adapted to specific terrains and styles. With TCC Race, the vertical compliance of the frame and seatpost improves grip and control, leading to reduced muscle fatigue. Because comfort contributes to speed.
Designed using ACE+ technology and years of aerodynamic experience gained from creating the world’s fastest road and time trial bikes, this Teammachine SLR is the most aerodynamic to date. The reworked tube shapes and functional integration are key elements of this new factor in the ACE equation. Aerodynamics has permeated every component to create a high-performance package. The latest improvements to the ICS cockpits and D-shaped seatpost, combined with the redesigned down tube and fork, demonstrate BMC’s motivation to create a racing machine.
Achieving new performance goals, the new down tube is formed with a smoother overall surface to reduce drag while maintaining stiffness. It also plays an important role in the all-new Aerocore design, creating a seamless transition with the Aerocore bottle cage. With the integration of this functional element, aerodynamic performance is improved in line with BMC’s philosophy: ultimate performance through functional integration.
A crucial element for aerodynamic performance, the fork has been completely redesigned based on the results provided by ACE+ software and lessons learned from the Timemachine Road. The fork legs are now flatter and shorter at the rear, and the discreet dropout design with an integrated thru-axle nut embodies the alliance between technical excellence and minimalist, elegant design.
“The fourth generation of the Teammachine SLR, featuring revolutionary ACE+ technology, embodies the ideal balance between performance and aesthetics. The fastest Teammachine SLR to date, with an ideal plus for competition,” says Stefan Christ, Head of R&D.
The new Teammachine SLR is available in the following versions: Teammachine SLR 01, Teammachine SLR, and Teammachine SLR 01 modules, in sizes 47, 51, 54, 56, 58, and 61 cm.
