New Girs Oscar2

Designed without compromise, the Oscar2 offers a high-performance experience capable of satisfying the demands of any cyclist.

Developed in partnership with Factor Bikes, to the highest standards, the Oscar2 benefits from the most advanced technologies. Because Factor owns its own factory, Girs is not faced with the problem of asking its suppliers to step out of their comfort zone. The best fibers are chosen, as well as the resins that will assemble these fibers and the most appropriate manufacturing techniques.

Because beyond the type of carbon fibers used, the most important parameter in frame design lies in the art of assembling and positioning them in the right place. Carbon fibers are expertly applied and every square millimeter of each section has been thought out to create the bike offering the most advanced lightness/stiffness/comfort ratio.

Impeccable assembly quality

The Oscar2 has been designed and developed to reconcile opposites: to offer maximum power transfer while providing unparalleled comfort through vibration damping. All this in a frame weighing less than 800g. This is the result of Factor’s expertise in carbon fiber manufacturing and assembly for over two decades.

The Oscar2 does all this with style, a sleek profile that will subtly stand out on any group ride. Elegance, comfort, and high performance throughout your ride.

Optimized power transfer

The continuous structure of the Oscar frame, from the down tube to the chainstay, offers unparalleled stiffness for minimal energy loss and maximum performance. The use of larger and wider tubes, with a more continuous shape, allows for longer carbon fiber sheets, for a stronger and lighter structure.

At the heart of the frame is the BBright bottom bracket shell. It was chosen because BBright offers the widest possible shell for a continuous and rigid transition between the down tube and the asymmetric chainstays. All this while being able to precisely assemble the carbon fiber sheets in this area, with high compaction, without sharp or thin shapes that would result in increased weight and decreased structural integrity. The asymmetric bottom bracket shell (wider on the non-drive side) and the wide junction between the down tube and the seat tube improve the balance and stiffness of the entire frame.

The asymmetric and tall seatstays use all available volume for a more continuous assembly to the bottom bracket shell, for greater stiffness and reduced weight, while leaving room for 28mm tires.

The perfect balance

The Oscar2 features an oversized asymmetric down tube, which forms the backbone of the frame, largely guaranteeing the bike’s highly responsive and lively nature. By using FEA software and data from the in-house test lab, the brand has perfected the size and profile of the down tube for each frame size to achieve superior handling characteristics. Connecting the head tube to the bottom bracket and chainstays, the asymmetric carbon down tube is designed for a perfect balance between vertical and torsional stiffness.

Svelte Fork

The frame and Svelte fork have been designed to work together to ensure the best possible performance: lateral stiffness with vertical compliance for comfort, excellent torsional stiffness for increased control in corners and descents. All these characteristics are combined in a very lightweight fork. Such a feat is the result of long hours of finite element analysis (FEA) during the design phase, followed by numerous carbon prototypes and laboratory and road tests. The Svelte fork, with its integrated crown into the down tube, uses a tapered steerer tube with 1”-1/3 and 1”-1/8 pivots for increased steering precision and aerodynamic gains.

The disc version of the Svelte fork largely retains the shape and dimensions of the rim-brake fork, to achieve the same performance, but with a slightly asymmetric design and a specific layup to withstand disc braking forces.

Rim or disc brakes

Whether it’s the Oscar2 or the Oscar2 Disc, each frame-fork set has been specifically designed to perform at the highest level. This includes your ability to brake safely and effectively. On the Oscar2, rim brakes use the classic, lightweight center-nut mounting. The wide seatstays keep the rear caliper out of the wind and reinforce the rear triangle for more powerful braking. The Oscar2 Disc uses the Flat Mount standard, with a recessed mount for a firmer interface and a clean finish. The frame and fork layup has been developed to provide carbon reinforcement in the braking area to maintain the Oscar2’s high standard of stiffness.

Raw technology

The Raw Skin is an unpainted version where the brand has simply applied its logo and a thin layer of varnish.

The manufacturing process results in a frame with remarkable finish quality, revealing the pure beauty of carbon with marbled reflections that in other worlds are symbols of luxury. Thanks to the Raw Skin version, you have the opportunity to acquire a bike with incredible performance without additional finishing costs. If only the bike’s performance matters to you, then the Rawskin version is for you. Pay only for the intrinsic performance of the frame, not for its decoration.

Color your life, color your ride!

Having features is good. Having character in addition is better.
This is the idea behind the MYGIRS customization program that allows you to create your bike, in your image and in your colors. While big brands seek standardization, when all cyclists seem to have the same bike, Girs focuses on differentiation.

Because Girs is convinced that there are as many ways to cycle as there are cyclists, the brand gives you the opportunity to design the ultimate bike of your dreams. The one that matches your practice, your expectations, the one that will offer you new possibilities. Your model, your style, your frame, your color!

Affordable prices

Starting from €1990 for the frame kit up to €8690 for the Dura-Ace Di2 Disc version with Black Inc. wheels, the Oscar2 is offered with several builds, in Shimano or Sram, at affordable prices considering the technology deployed.
