TRIATHLON – Alpsman Xtrem Triathlon 2020 Canceled

Scheduled for June 6 and 7, the Alpsman Xtrem Triathlon 2020 cannot withstand the Covid-19 wave. As a safety measure, the event is cancelled. Here is the message released by the organizer, who is already looking forward to June 5 and 6, 2021.

“Faced with the current health crisis, the uncertain context of the coming weeks, and the latest government announcements extending the lockdown until at least April 15, we had to make a choice. And it is with great regret, but for the good of all and in the common interest, that we have decided to cancel the 2020 edition of the Alpsman.

Indeed, despite all our efforts, current conditions compromise the organization of the event. We will not be able to meet our requirements to offer you quality races and guarantee everyone’s safety. Moreover, with the extension of the lockdown, it becomes impossible to train decently for the preparation of such an event without taking risks. The challenge is at the core of our event, but it seems far too great to be reasonably met at this time.

Initially, we considered postponing it to the autumn. But with the calendar saturated during that period, this possibility did not prove satisfactory given the scale of our event. We prefer to focus our efforts on the next edition, which will be held on June 5 and 6, 2021.

Sometimes you have to question yourself to make the most appropriate decisions. We understand that a sudden cancellation is a disappointment, but we will emerge from this crisis stronger and more united. Despite the challenges, we remain by your side in all circumstances!
