Adding the Giro to its list of cycling races seemed an obvious choice for Tissot, a leader in the traditional Swiss watchmaking sector and an important brand within the Swatch Group.
After renewing its partnership with the Tour de France and the Vuelta in 2016, Tissot now achieves the Grand Slam with the Giro d’Italia, becoming the first official Swiss timekeeper in the history of the three biggest cycling tours. Tissot is now involved in ASO’s biggest cycling races, and also sponsors the Deutschland Tour.
The Giro d’Italia will start on May 9, 2020, in Budapest with an individual time trial. The race will cross Sicily, then follow Italy’s East coast, finally concluding in Milan with an individual time trial on the Piazza del Duomo on May 31, 2020.
