Already represented at the highest level for twenty years in major road cycling and mountain biking competitions, Lapierre announces a partnership with the Poissy Triathlon club. The Dijon-based company will equip the athletes with bikes to support them in their pursuit of success. A five-year contract (the longest ever signed by Lapierre), with the Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Olympic Games in sight. The association of the two French entities highlights common values: a strong family spirit combined with a strong competitive and performance drive.

2nd at the Hamburg WTS, winner of the Super League, and 8th in the 2019 world rankings: 2020 could be the year of consecration for Cassandre Beaugrand.

For the 2020 season, Poissy Triathlon athletes will benefit from a Lapierre Xelius SL Disc model. A bike presented as ideal for performing in “modern triathlon formats, often practiced on short, fast, and winding city circuits to ensure a spectacle.”

Winner of his first WTS in Bermuda last April, Dorian Coninx intends to earn his place for the Tokyo Olympics.

The Xelius SL Disc features a frame with a unique design (3D Tubular), with seatstays joining the seat tube further forward, freeing the latter from all constraints to increase vertical flexibility and provide more comfort to the cyclist. The complex construction of nearly 300 UD SL carbon parts combines High Resistance (HR) carbon fibers with High Modulus (HM) fibers to lighten the frame as much as possible without losing lateral stiffness and maintaining maximum pedaling efficiency.

Léonie Périault will once again be a key player in the 2019 French champion Poissy Triathlon women’s team, and in the French mixed relay team (double World and European champion 2018/2019).

Inspired by the brand’s most advanced aerodynamic technologies, the Xelius SL features tubes with optimized aerodynamic profiles (NACA and KAMMTAIL). As the most versatile model in the Lapierre range, the frame combines lightness, comfort, and aerodynamics, and aims to support athletes from the French championships to World Cup events and the Olympic Games.

Reactions:

Dorian Tabeau, Lapierre Brand Manager: “It was an obvious choice to sponsor the Poissy club; they have very high ambitions, and we have a great story to build together.”

Philippe Gros, President of Poissy Triathlon: “New year, new challenges, new adventure with a long-term Lapierre partnership to achieve sporting excellence! A great recognition for our club, our staff, and our athletes.”
