The AG2R La Mondiale team took advantage of the pleasant climate on the roads of the Costa Blanca in Spain to rack up kilometers and training hours, and discover the new Eddy Merckx bikes.

After a first year of collaboration in 2019 marked by difficulties (riders had to ride on disguised Ridley bikes, as the initial partner’s models did not meet the riders’ expectations), AG2R La Mondiale continues its collaboration with Eddy Merckx bikes for the 2020 season. Riders will benefit from the Stockeu69 models and the latest 525 Disc. The time trial bike should remain a Ridley Dean, flanked by the name of the Cannibal, as the Eddy Merckx brand, owned by Ridley, does not have a time trial model in its range.

For the fourth consecutive year, Mavic will equip the AG2R La Mondiale team’s bikes with wheels, and Vredestein with tires. The other technical partners are Fi’zi:k for saddle choice, DEDA for handlebar-stem-seatpost components, and Elite for bottle cages. The pedal partner remains the Nevers-based company, LOOK. And the bike is assembled with a Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 drivetrain, while Rotor provides technical support for the crankset.

Highly anticipated since last year, the 525 Disc, with its aerodynamic lines, will be available to the French team for the 2020 season.
Benoît Cosnefroy, here on his new Stockeu69, will be one of the spearheads of the French team in 2020.
Romain Bardet is committed to the Giro in 2020, while Pierre Latour is expected to be the leader of the AG2R La Mondiale team in the upcoming Tour de France.
Belgian Oliver Naesen, whose brother Lawrence joined the team during the off-season, will once again be the team’s best card in the Flemish classics.
