G4 Dimension, the brand of former professional Geoffroy Lequatre, specializes in cycling apparel designs inspired by haute couture trends. Now, G4 Dimension is entering the safety arena with the new e.Motion winter cycling kit. Comprising a jacket and long bib shorts, this new G4 e.Motion collection aims to provide optimal protection on the bike, both against the elements and, more importantly, against the dangers encountered on the road.

The secret of this jacket lies in the integration of a clever fiber optic light strip on its back. The goal is to provide maximum visibility in low-light conditions. The light strip is a side-emitting fiber offering a very high level of visibility (approximately 200m).

The e.Motion winter jacket combines an innovative design, typical of G4, with a technical integration that was previously unavailable on the cycling market. The e-Motion jacket offers five operating modes: three different light intensities, a flashing light, and an “Off” mode. For those who enjoy dark rides before or after work, the e-Motion jacket also features reflective pockets and inserts in addition to this light strip.

To activate or deactivate it, press the “On” button for 3 seconds. The operating time naturally depends on the selected mode (from 3 to 10 hours in steady light). Equipped with a charge indicator, the 800 mAh (5V) Li-ION battery is connected to the light strip via a 2.5mm jack cable and is rechargeable via Micro USB.

While safety was a primary focus in the development of this e-Motion jacket, the protection and support of the cyclist in action are not forgotten for this winter product. The main fabric of the jacket is composed of a triple membrane that is windproof, water-repellent, and fleece-lined to keep you warm throughout your winter bike rides. The second fabric used features a quilted membrane inspired by what can be seen in casual wear on certain jackets or down jackets.

The combination of these two fabrics gives the e-Motion jacket its unique style, halfway between an everyday jacket and technical, sporty cycling apparel. In terms of color, the jacket features an elegant and trendy midnight blue, already familiar to fans of the brand from the Luxe Bleu summer collection. Note that the e-Motion jacket is, of course, machine washable without any problems. Simply unplug the battery beforehand.
