Wilier Triestina announced today a new partnership with the Astana Pro Team for the upcoming season. Astana is therefore leaving Argon 18, the Kazakh team’s partner for the past two seasons, and beginning a new collaboration with the Rossano Veneto-based company. The objective for both entities: for Wilier to offer the best products of the brand, and for the Astana team to participate and be involved in the development of new bikes. Wilier Triestina will supply its bikes to the UCI World Tour Astana Pro Team, as well as to the Astana Women Team, part of the UCI Women Team circuit, and to Astana City and Vino-Astana Motors, two men’s UCI Continental category teams.

Wilier 0 SLR, the ultra-lightweight

The Astana team riders will benefit from the very lightweight Wilier 0 SLR for road races, featuring disc brakes and fully integrated cables (a high-end model that can weigh close to 6.5 kg when fully assembled, in its most advanced version). The handlebar and seatpost are also from Wilier Triestina, and follow the lines of the 0 SLR frame. The new monocoque carbon seatpost was designed for the 0 SLR and is inspired by the truncated profiles seen on the Cento10 Pro and Cento10NDR. And the handlebar-stem combo adopts the concept of the Alabarda model, a monocoque carbon handlebar through which all cables pass, for a smooth and clean aesthetic. Astana also retains its other technical partners from last year, such as Corima for wheels, Shimano for drivetrain, Prologo for saddles, Look for pedals, and Tacx for bottle cages.

Wilier Turbine, the in-house rocket

For individual or team time trial efforts, Astana team riders will be able to rely on the aerodynamic Wilier Turbine. A frame with advanced characteristics, capable of perfectly meeting the demands of road cyclists and triathletes worldwide. The product was developed by Wilier based on four fundamental pillars: aerodynamics; braking efficiency; wide range of positioning; ease of transport. The Wilier Turbine was born from the best synthesis of these elements. A new triathlon and time trial frame that embodies all of Wilier Triestina’s expertise in the pursuit of the highest speed. The kind of machine and achievement that one always contemplates with admiration and wonder!
