The UCI and the famous virtual cycling platform Zwift will launch the first e-Sport Cycling World Championships in 2020.

For such an event to take place under the best conditions, the international federation and Zwift will develop a strict verification protocol to avoid any risk of cheating.

In addition to an official World Championship, 15 national championships and continental championships will be contested and will serve as qualification for the World Championships, with different formats, individual or team.

Zwift is currently only guaranteed to organize the 2020 World Championship, as the UCI will soon launch a call for tenders for this new discipline, which seems to be close to its heart. Or in tune with the times.
