A few weeks after testing the Momentum sports bra, Anita sent us a pair of sports leggings for testing, but with special properties. The Anita Sport massage leggings are supposed to provide additional well-being during activity, for us women. Verdict after use in running, at the gym, and even… under a dress.

I knew Anita mainly for her bras, but these tights were a real surprise. To top it off, I received a sober colored model. A shiny black that isn’t shocking, and to tell you the truth, I even slipped it under a small dress as everyday leggings and it went off without a hitch. So what’s so special about these “massage” tights? We’re talking about massage, not compression. And when we talk about massage, don’t imagine that there are hundreds of tiny hands massaging your legs while you run. That would be too good to be true. But it’s a special “textured power fabric with nubs that massage the legs and give a second-skin effect” according to the brand’s explanations.

What are we talking about?
Concretely, what is it? Well, these nubs are like small alveoli, you know, like what you find in honeycomb. In fact, when I wear the tights for a while and then take them off, I have hundreds of these small alveoli imprinted on my legs. That’s how much these little things embed themselves! Rest assured, ladies, it doesn’t stay! To get an idea, I tried it in several disciplines. A good test is a long-term test; a single use is too short to give a coherent opinion. Moreover, these tights received an IPSOS Award for cold weather. And I must specify that I haven’t had the opportunity to verify this, given the temperatures of the last few days. But of course, this is to be followed up this winter. First of all, and before trying it in action, I strongly advise you to put it through the washing machine once. My first tactile contact with the product was a bit special, but after a wash (without fabric softener, because Soupline damages technical materials. A good detergent is more than enough), everything was back to normal.

The bike/run brick test
Let’s talk a little about the technical aspects now. Still according to the brand: “The fabric incorporating Sweat Management technology ensures functionality and perfect comfort. This combination of two materials provides incredible breathability while quickly wicking away perspiration and keeping the skin pleasantly dry. The extra-flat seams facilitate your ease and ensure total comfort. For absolute well-being, these leggings feature a thin, airy waistband and a gusset at the crotch that guarantees greater freedom of movement.”
In everyday language, a translation is necessary. These tights are shaping and comfortable, which means they sculpt your legs and curves without making you feel like a roast beef on legs (those who are smiling understand me, I’m sure…), there are no seams or things that scratch inside. Who hasn’t experienced that at least once? Raise your hand! Or your sneaker, your choice. Regarding the breathable effect, I admit to having run with them in over 25°C without feeling like I was in a pressure cooker!

I really enjoyed wearing these tights after a significant bike workout, followed immediately by a run. When I put my bike down, my legs felt heavy on the stairs (what we call “heavy thighs”), but when I started running, that sensation was gone. My brick workout went smoothly, with a feeling of light legs. No bothersome seams, a very close-fitting and opaque fabric, no transparency, even though these tights are meant to be worn without anything underneath for greater comfort, just like cycling shorts. For example, in yoga, where there are many postures where you contort yourself in all directions, with these tights, you can move with complete peace of mind. You benefit from the fact that there’s no underwear elastic pinching, no unsightly bulges (a non-exhaustive list, of course…). Well, everyone does as they please, I’m just giving a simple tip on the variety of possible uses for these sports leggings.
A largely positive assessment
I tested these leggings across a wide range of activities: running, yoga, cycling to yoga, and daily wear. And I’m looking forward to slipping them under my cycling shorts this winter for extra warmth while riding, or wearing them with a pair of boots and a big sweater, or with heels for a Saturday night fever revival. The Sport Massage leggings hold up well to washing, the shine remains shiny, the fabric doesn’t stretch, and they dry very quickly. So, even if I regretted the initial feel before the first wash, this product once again demonstrates Anita’s expertise in women’s sports clothing and underwear, ensuring support, comfort, and well-being during activity.
