The reigning Mixed Relay World Champions and two-time European Champions (2018 and 2019), the French Mixed Relay Team, will defend their title on Sunday, July 7, in Hamburg. Highly successful in this discipline, which will make its Olympic debut at the Tokyo Games next year, the French team took 3rd place in the Mixed Relay Series in Nottingham last June.

They will need to watch out for the Australians, Americans, and New Zealanders, who medaled in the Mixed Relay Series in Abu Dhabi and Edmonton. The British, who won the Nottingham stage, will also be closely watched.

As team compositions are finalized after tomorrow’s World Triathlon Series events (see here), the names of the four French athletes (2 men and 2 women) at the start will be announced tomorrow evening. Last year, the quartet that became world champions consisted of Léonie Périault, Dorian Coninx, Cassandre Beaugrand, and Vincent Luis.

It is worth noting that all French athletes present in Hamburg are European or World Champions from 2018 and/or 2019.

The Mixed Relay World Championship starts on Sunday, July 7, at 9:30 AM.
