What better way to strengthen team bonds and prepare for upcoming events than a team-building camp? For six days, the Maurienne Valley, the world’s largest cycling area with its passes, snow-capped peaks, and technical descents, hosted the French Women’s U23 Team. A look back at these few days of relaxation, but also and above all, hard work.

The Maurienne, the world’s largest cycling area, hosted eleven athletes from the French Women’s U23 Road Team for a training camp from May 19 to 25, supervised by their coach Julien Guiborel. The French squad was composed of:
– Victoire BERTEAU – VC Laon – Hauts de France
– Clara COPPONI – VC St Julien en Genevois – Auvergne/Rhône Alpes
– Emeline EUSTACHE – VC Annemasse – Auvergne/Rhône Alpes
– Maïna GALAND – EC Landerneau – Bretagne
– Marie GIELEN – VC Morteau Montbenoit – Bourgogne/Franche Comté
– Aline GUGLIELMI – VC St Julien en Genevois – Auvergne/Rhône Alpes
– Lucie JOUNIER – US Vern Cyclisme – Bretagne
– Marie LE NET – VC Pontivy – Bretagne
– Dilyxine MIERMONT – Ambert – Auvergne/Rhône Alpes
– Marion NORBERT RIBEROLLE – Multum Accountants Ladies CT – Belgique
– Gladys VERHULST – VC Aiglon – Normandie
The objective of the camp was to deepen their experience on mountainous courses, technical descent management, and physical preparation for upcoming competitions in May and June (UCI international races in Brittany, then the French Championships).
The Maurienne, a land of road cycling par excellence, offered them a beautiful playground that they explored for five days with a dense and studious program: Col du Télégraphe, Col d’Albanne, ascent of La Toussuire, Col du Mollard, Lacets de Montvernier, and Col de La Croix de Fer.
The camp also included a new activity: an introduction to judo to acquire protective reflexes in case of falls.
