TRIATHLON – Ironman 70.3 Barcelona (M): Bart Aernouts Takes the Title

Third in the event in 2018, Belgium’s Bart Aernouts won the Ironman 70.3 Barcelona today ahead of Great Britain’s David McNamee (2nd last year at the same event). The two men are inseparable, as they also stood side-by-side on the podium of the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii last October (Bart Aernouts 2nd and David McNamee 3rd).

In 3rd place was another Briton, George Goodwin.

On the French side, Antony Costes, who was in the race until the halfway point of the bike leg, then dropped out of the top 10. Arnaud Guilloux, 5th in the Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix last week, withdrew from the event during the first half of the bike leg.
