TRIATHLON – Super League: Cassandre Beaugrand 3rd Overall

Today, the very last event of the 1st season of the Super League took place in Singapore. After yesterday’s Eliminator format where Frenchwomen Cassandre Beaugrand and Léonie Périault shone by finishing 2nd and 4th respectively, it was the Enduro format (3 triathlons of 300m-5km-2km to be completed without a break) that delivered the final verdict.

The two Frenchwomen once again put on a show. After a fierce battle in the final straight, Cassandre Beaugrand won ahead of American Katie Zaferes. Léonie Périault, for her part, took 4th place.

In the final general classification, American Katie Zaferes took home the $100,000 check promised to the winner. Cassandre Beaugrand climbed to the 3rd step of the podium, even though she only competed in two stages (Jersey and Singapore) out of the four on the circuit. Thanks to her strong performances this weekend, Léonie Périault finished 10th in the general classification.

The Frenchwomen are starting their season perfectly before the start of the World Triathlon Series scheduled for March 8 and 9 in Abu Dhabi.
